Features of Tapered Roller Bearings

Conical roller bearing, or tapered roller bearing in terminology, consists of a cup and a cone assembly. The cup is the outer ring of the bearing while the cone assembly comprises inner ring, cage and rollers. Such construction can carry combined radial and axial loads.

Besides, conical roller bearing offers several types including single row, double row and multiple row. Except the single row type, the other two are provided with preset clearance.

Axis supplies tapered roller bearings in a full range of designs and sizes. And, normally, most of the bearings are in stock all year round with a quick delivery service. Furthermore, customization is acceptable for special designs.

Tapered Roller Bearing Types

Including metric and inch series, single row conical bearing comes a wide range of sizes, from 15mm to almost 1000mm. Meanwhile, the design makes them have the capacity to carry combined axial and radial loads simultaneously. Besides, because of their cost-effectiveness, it is one of the most frequently used bearings in many applications.

Double row taper bearing offers two types: TDO type with one double cup and two single cones while TDI type with one double cone and two single cups. These bearings carry heavy radial loads, as well as axial loads in double directions. Therefore, engineers usually select them for heavy equipment, for instance, crane, heavy gearbox, tunneling machines.

Rolling mill bearing could be another name of four row taper roller bearing, because it’s found almost only in steel rolling mill equipment. And, its special construction allows them to work normally under the heavy combined axial and radial loads at a speed from low or moderate.
