Wet end section consists of wire section and press section. In these sections, the pulp is guided by forming rolls which remove a large mount of water and shape the paper mass into form. Then, the suction / press roll remove a mount of water from paper web again and guide paper web to dryer section. The bearings used in these sections are requested to be with very high load rating, normal or C3 radial internal clearance.
Dryer section removes most of the left water of paper web by moving the web along a S-shape path over a double row heated cylinder. That means, dryer section usually works with a high temperature. Therefore, the bearings used in dryer section must come with a reliable quality and increased internal clearance to withstand the severe work condition.
Calender section is positioned after the dryer section, it consists of a stack of 2-8 steel rolls resting on top each other. It is used to calender or glaze the coated paper in order to achieve a smoother surface and make the paper shiny. The calender bearings are requested to have an improved running accuracy to accomodate the fast paper speed.
Reeler section is at the end of the production line. The reeler bearings work in a relatively good environment where the surroungding is dry and the temperature is normal. However, it’s important to protect the bearings from paper dust. Besides, in modern machine, the rolls can take a weight of up to 100 tons, therefore, a good load carrying capacity for the bearing is necessary.
